Edmond Spence, Coronation Collection for the Walpole Furniture Company six drawer dresser from 1953. The implied volume of the bureau with its set back drawer faces, extended sideboards, tapered legs, sculpted pulls and raised edges give this minimal masterpiece a distinctive profile. Birch veneer with maple framing finished in a lightly toned clear lacquer. Stamped "Made in Sweden" on bottom. Solidly built, drawers run smoothly, good vintage condition with minor dings and scratches (pictured) consistent with age.
